For nearly 70 years, BelPres Church has hosted Christmas Eve services to celebrate the magic and meaning of the season, and you're invited! This year, we will host nine Christmas Eve services and three new Handel’s Messiah concerts on December 14 and 15. We created more opportunities for you to make memories, experience real joy and hope during the holidays, and even invite a friend to join you.
Also, like every year, we will shine Jesus’ love through serving our neighbors facing homelessness and isolation. We hope you will join us this year in honor of a God who welcomes us in.
Modern Worship Band | 3pm, 5pm (livestream), 7pm, 9pm
Modern services include carols, candles, upbeat celebration, and Christmas nostalgia hosted by our Modern Worship Band and New Hope Worship Team. Our focus will be remembering who Jesus is and his birth while enjoying the magic of what makes this season so special.
Sanctuary 3pm | with Festival Orchestra at 5pm, 7pm (Livestream), 9pm
In each Sanctuary service, enjoy familiar Christmas carols, followed by candle lighting and singing Silent Night. The 3pm service will include Pneuma choir with piano and organ. The 5pm, 7pm, and 9pm services include Sanctuary Chorus and our Festival Orchestra.
New Hope African Praise | 10:30pm | in-PERSON + livestream
New Hope Revival community will host an upbeat East African service that has a proclivity towards jumping. The service will be spoken in Kinyarwanda and translated into English.
Sanctuary Youth Choir | 11pm | in-person only
A longstanding tradition at BelPres, our last service of the night will be led by our middle and high school choir, Bel Canto. Many come to this service to usher in the arrival of our King on Christmas Day with candles and Silent Night.
CHILDCARE AVAILABLE @ 3pm, 5pm, 7PM (for 3 months-5 years)
Our Child Care Center is located up the stairs from the Lobby on the third floor. Infants, toddlers and Preschoolers will be shown God's love and be cared for while parents attend worship. Kids of all ages are also invited to join their families in all of our services, and activity bags will be provided!
Creating Home for Our New Neighbors + Friends During the Holidays
Every Christmas season, we join together to show Jesus' love to our neighbors and ministry partners. You already generously donated 850 coats for refugees and filled up all the spots for meals for the homeless! We plan to do even more together during Christmas to serve those experiencing homelessness or need a welcome and home during the holidays. Please prayerfully consider where God may be leading you to serve! See below opportunities.
1. Welcome Boxes + Kits
Help refugee families feel seen, welcomed, and get on their feet. In the lobby on Nov 24 and Dec 1, pick up boxes and kit instructions that help provide basic needs for refugee families moving to this area. You can participate alone, with your family, or with your small group. Drop off your boxes and kits on Dec 8 and 15. Come by the lobby before or after services to learn more.
2. Toy Drive
So many refugee families and their kids enter Washington with nothing to play with! Please bring in your used or new toys on Sundays and drop them off in the Lobby or Upper Campus to share some joy with kids during the holidays. Some ideas are youth soccer balls, blocks, trucks, or dolls!
3. Christmas Joy Offering
In addition to our general offering on Christmas Eve, we collect a special Joy Offering to support Eastside Academy (EA), an alternative high school operating in our Upper Campus. Giving will go live on Christmas Eve at Belpres.org/Give (choose “Joy Offering” under “Fund”). You can also mail a check to the church (please be sure to write “Christmas Joy” on the memo line ). Thank you for supporting EA this holiday season!
All-Church Christmas Bible Reading Plan
We created an all-church reading plan to guide the young and old through the Christmas story and the promises of Jesus fulfilled in Scripture. We hope you will take a little time each day to read, discuss, and answer the questions as a family or with friends or your small group. You can pick up a physical copy in our lobby on Sundays, find the plan and notifications in the BelPres app, or print the plan at home below. Please join us in growing deeper in love with who Jesus is and what he has done for us!
We provided a paper ornament to decorate and cut out that’s associated with the reading for that day.
