Family Life Ministries

Welcome to Family Life Ministries!

Where we support the growth of children and families from birth to graduation.

Summer Sundays Begin June 23!

Summer Sundays begin June 23 with Blue Box messages! Blue Box messages are bite size sermons that are simple enough for a child to understand, but full of truth that adults can use in their daily lives. Elementary children will remain in worship with their families and will be dismissed to the upper campus for children’s programming following the Blue Box message. Experiencing multigenerational worship helps adults remember the experience of worshiping joyfully as a child, and helps show children the reverence that adults have in a mature walk with God. We all have things to learn from each other, and God loves to see us joined together in worship. Join us for Blue Box messages all summer long.

Children who have completed K- Grade 4 will check in at the Sanctuary Lobby or Connector, then join their families in worship. Children will attend the first half of worship, enjoy The Blue Box message, and will be escorted to the UC prior to the sermon for activities. Parents pick up will be in UC-303.

*Jul 14 and Sep 1 will be All Ages Worship services, and the Child Care Center will be closed. Aug 28 will be Worship in the Park, and the building will be closed.

Our Programs

Our Sunday program is designed to reach children, turning 3-5 years old by Aug 31, 2018, and introduce them to Bible truths that will help them build a strong spiritual foundation. While children attend Preschool Sundays, they will experience the love of Jesus through the care of adult and youth leaders, and large group story telling, games and songs. Weekly take home pages inform parents of what children have learned and provide activities to reinforce concepts at home.

For more information about Preschool Sundays, please contact Lisa Phelps, Director of Early Childhood Ministries.

We’re so glad to see you! Elementary is a crucial beginning to a child’s lifelong faith. We teach God’s love to our students through loving volunteers, music, and Bible memorization.

High School Ministry is a place for students 9th – 12th grades to encounter God, connect to community, and become hope wherever they live, work, play, or learn.

We believe high school is an amazing time in life where teens discover who they are and who they want to be. HSM seeks to meet students where they are at and invite them into a journey of discovering the creator who loves them, welcome them into the family of God, and discover how to partner with God in transforming the world.

As part of our desire to protect the congregation of Bellevue Presbyterian Church (BelPres) we have adopted a broad policy requiring all staff and volunteers to have passed a national background check. Additionally, all volunteers working with children and youth (as well as staff) are also required to view our Abuse Prevention Training video and pass the associated test.

BelPres uses a company named Checkr to perform the background check part of our policy.  Checkr is established in the church/non-profit world as a secure and trusted provider of background checking services.  Beyond the church world, Checkr is used by many large organizations such as banks and HR companies.

Checkr uses some of the most advanced and secure technology available to receive your personal information and transmit results back to our secure servers. The BelPres system is tied into Checkr to provide an even higher level of security between our two systems.  If you want more technical information on Checkr’s security ratings, follow this link

Your application is encrypted, stored and transmitted using the same security services used by organizations such as NASDAQ, MIT, and CISCO.

BelPres only stores the results of the background check on our secure servers, not the confidential information used to run the check (SSN, etc.).

If you have further questions about the security of your personal information or the background check process, please contact our church office (425.454.3082) and ask to speak with our Director of Human Resources or Church Business Administrator

For children ages 3 month to 3 years, stop at the Child Care Center on the third floor (top of the big staircase) to check-in children ages 3 months to 3 years.  There are loving caregivers and inviting, safe play spaces for infants and toddlers. Pagers are also available for parents to take to service with them to keep them informed of their child’s wellbeing.

For children who are Turning 4 or 5 this school year and all elementary children:  Continue up the big staircase in the Sanctuary through the double doors and around the playground to the Upper Campus Building.  As you enter, you will see a red Welcome Desk.  Volunteers there will help you check in and find your child’s classroom.

Middle and High School Students meet and worship in the intergenerational 11:00am Modern Service in the Community Center.  Look for youth staff and volunteers on the patio to welcome you in!
