Disaster Preparedness

Be Informed. Be Prepared. Give It Away.

Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

The prudent see danger and take refuge,
but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.
Proverbs 22:3 NIV

There are over 3 million people living in the greater Seattle area, and God cares for them all. As a community of Christ followers, we can be a part of revival by loving our neighbors and preparing to care for them in the face of disaster. BelPres believes we are called to be the 1st-century church in the 21st century. May we turn fear into hope, the Church into refuge and acquaintances into relationships. Join us as we spread the love of Jesus over the Eastside.

Consultants and leaders at BelPres recommend the following information.

This purification unit is very similar to the unit we provided to our BelPres staff and will be using onsite at BelPres if we become a disaster shelter. Using this unit means two things: 1) we don’t need to store as much water in our disaster supplies 2) we must have a source of water to filter (we have a stream running through the church property 11 months a year).
