Deacons are people who are good at caring and connecting. In this busy world, it’s not always easy to find ways to connect with people, but each Deacon finds a way to do so that works for them. Some like to write cards, some prefer a telephone call, some bake, and some prefer to email. The thing that Deacons have in common is a commitment to care for the members of BelPres.
Each member is assigned a Deacon, and we have some Deacons who respond to non-members when in crisis (major or minor). We encourage you to get to know your Deacon. If you don’t know who your Deacon is, call Prayer + Care at the church office, or email Mona Chicks.
What It's Like Being a Deacon
Deacons are skilled at caring and connecting. Do you know someone who is great at connecting with people? Are you? It doesn’t have to take a lot of time, but the impact is immeasurable.
Contact Mona Chicks for more information, or with a Deacon nomination. The nomination season is January through March each year, but if you know of someone who would make a great Deacon, please let us know any time of year.

Guitar Fellowship takes music to some retirement centers each month. Participants are encouraged, though not required, to serve in this way.
