Introducing the BelPres Elder Class of 2020

Elders are church members nominated and elected by the congregation to share in the leadership of the church and to act as liaisons between Session and our Ministries and Departments.


Angie Bennett – Mission & Serve, Global

Angie and her husband, Collin, have attended BelPres since kindergarten. During that time, Angie was involved in the Re:New Homes, worked with junior high students in her late teens, and was an active participant in youth group. Angie lived in Southern California for eight years, where she led Bible studies, mentored college students and served as a social worker. She has been on numerous mission trips around the globe and spent five consecutive summers serving in the Dominican Republic. Fun fact: Angie loves sunshine, investing in relationships, and the beach!


Mindy Lincicome – Belong & Grow

Mindy and her husband, Greg, and their three teenagers have been part of the BelPres community since summer 2013. She is involved with Family Life ministries as a 5th grade Sunday school teacher and 5Alive leader, and as part of the VBA leadership team. Mindy is a table leader for the Women at the Well bible study, and enjoys being part of the handbell choir. Her family enjoys serving together, and has done so at the meal-packing events, Congregations for the Homeless meals, VBA, and other Family Life events. Fun fact: Mindy has served in various PTA board positions and as a Girl Scout leader for the past 10 years.


Steve McCoy – Finance

Steve and his wife Georgia have been members since 2003. Their three children, two granddaughters and two great-grandsons are scattered across four states. Steve and Georgia hosted The Marriage Course for four years. Steve has served as an usher, on the communion serving team, Men’s Retreat Committee, and moderator for the Mission Council. Steve has previously been an Elder in a California Presbyterian church. Fun fact: Steve recently passed the first level exam toward becoming a wine sommelier.


Carrie Nordberg – Family Life Ministries

 

Carrie and her husband Sean have been members of BelPres since 2004. They have four kids, ages 3 – 16. Carrie is on the Sunday school and VBA drama team, substitutes as a Sunday school teacher, and has attended WATW for the past 10 years. In October, her family went on the Baja Mexico Impact Trip. Carrie works part time as well as taking care of the home front. Her hobbies include masters swimming, swim coaching, walking with friends, reading and organizing a Supper Club. Fun fact: Carrie went to pastry school and loves to bake!


Steve Roberts – Mission & Serve, Leadership Development

Steve and his wife Charlotte have attended BelPres since 1987, and their children, Lee, Allison and Leslie grew up here. Steve has been lead usher, served on session twice, 4 years as volunteer Associate Director of Community Outreach, helped create Jubilee 2005 and Jubilee Service Day, served on Scott Dudley’s PNC and spent 11 years in Bible Study Fellowship. From 2005 until 2016 Steve was Executive Director of Congregations for the Homeless and now heads up the group building the new Shelter in Bellevue. Steve loves to hike, workout, read and garden.
