Thank you, Lars

Walking through the Upper Campus building on Sunday mornings is an inspiration thanks to the playful colors, friendly faces, singing, learning and laughter.  We are grateful to Reverend Dr. Lars Rood for his love, leadership, and vision to help that happen every week.

Lars will be leaving BelPres at the end of April. Lars joined the staff in June 2012 as the Associate Pastor of Family Life Ministries (FLM, and his leadership helped to create a ministry that transitions BelPres’ children seamlessly from infant care all the way through high school, with an expanded focus on middle school ministries. Under Lars’ leadership, FLM continued to serve hundreds of children and youth in spirit-filled ways through Sunday morning ministries, Vacation Bible Adventure, service opportunities, and mission trips. Lars also contributed his expertise as a team member on the interiors project, and many of the improvements you have seen in the Upper Campus building were innovative ideas from that team. Recently, Lars took on a new role to help build our faith community amongst parents and men. In this new season for Lars as he moves away from BelPres, he has committed himself to be bold and courageous, humble and honest, and to fully follow God’s leading into a new vocational step.

Lars says of his time at BelPres, “This has been a great growing time for me at BelPres. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be a pastor here. BelPres has supported and encouraged me to dream about how I might use my gifts and talents in new ways. I have a strong desire to help network people, organizations, and churches to see what God can do when we connect and collaborate. Thank you for believing in me and helping me enter into a new season. I will always value my time here.”

We support Lars in this next step and join him and his family in trusting God to guide them in their journey. We will celebrate Lars and his ministries with a reception in late April. Please join us in prayer, celebration, and gratitude for Lars and his family.
